Once again, great video. I usually have the finished poster open next to my reading, so I can see where in the grand scheme of things the current passage is.
Interesting, I never saw the parallel between John and Jesus before. That they were both killed due to public pressure on a leader. Also how do we know about the inner workings of Herod and the request. Weird that we would know that he felt bad about it, unless he announced this; and weird that we would know that Herodias’ daughter was prompted by her.
Side note: assuming it’s not a salsa or a waltz, that’s disgusting that he would have his niece dance before him and a crowd of guests.
Verse 19, I love that Jesus looked up to heaven, before He Himself give the blessing of the food. Normally we ask for the blessing from God, but because He is God He blessed the food Himself. But out of respect He still looks towards heaven.
