As parents, we often find ourselves wondering: Is any of this actually sticking? We pour truth and love into our children, but in the heat of a tantrum or an argument, it’s hard to see the long-term fruit.

I recently completed a 5-day devotional plan called “Parenting On Purpose,” and it provided a perspective I didn’t know I needed.

A Unique View from Both Sides

What sets this plan apart is its dual perspective. It is written by both a mother and her daughter. While the mother shares the biblical principles she sought to instill, the daughter shares the “behind-the-scenes” reality of how those choices impacted her as a child and a teenager.

It is one thing to read about biblical parenting; it is quite another to hear a grown child say, “This is why that boundary mattered to me,” or “This is how my mother’s consistency shaped my faith.”

Practical Faith

The plan doesn’t stay in the clouds of theory. It gets into the grit of daily life, showing how to apply Scripture to real-world parenting scenarios. It reminded me that parenting “on purpose” isn’t about being a perfect parent; it’s about being an intentional one. It’s about realizing that every small, faithful seed we plant today is contributing to the person our child will become tomorrow.

Final Thoughts

If you are looking for a quick but deep study to recalibrate your heart toward your children, I highly recommend this 5-day journey. It gave me a renewed sense of hope and a clearer vision for the “why” behind the “what” of daily parenting.
